There is a lot that religion and sexism have in common.

Sadly, it is evident that they are almost one in the same! As long as one is a traditional religionist, they automatically are a sexist and endorse sexism!

It is very apparent that in all Christian, Jewish or Islamic faiths, that the woman is a 2nd class citizen! Sexism is inherent in most religions and claims of a God! First of all, the omnipotent God himself is a man or male.
And remember, God is perfect in every way, so therefore, by logic, being a male must be the perfect thing for God to be (simply because he is!), and consequently, all men are therefore more “similar” to God and closer to God then a woman can ever be! Simply because all men are men and God is also a male.

As a woman, you have to accept this as a truth if you believe in God!
Due to the fact that God is perfect and happens to be a male, it is intrinsically implied that if he was a woman he would therefore be less than perfect! All traditional religious women in existence must realize that inherently they are 2nd class citizens according to the recognized history of their religion! Surely, any reasonable individual female in their right mind would take this as a inexcusable blow to their gender. How does one get over the fact that God is allegedly male and I am a female?


Also, it is very apparent that the levels of oppression and sexism are in direct proportion to how “strong” the faith or religion is. All of the “true” and “obedient” faiths keep their women as 2nd class citizens. It is as if, one can’t be religious without automatically being sexist against women or if you are women, you are sexist against yourself or have low self esteem!

There are prime examples of this in some of the Jewish and Islamic denominations. In many Islamic faiths, the women are treated as less than a citizen. In many of the Jewish sects, the man has this same amount of power over the women. Of course, most will rationalize this in a quick fix explanation.



This leads me to the most absurd things that I have ever heard! That being the religionist rationalization that “Submission is Power”

Sadly, submission is submission! There is no “power’ in submitting and being subservient! The rational atheist cannot understand the mindset of the “saved” woman. It is puzzling how the female religionist refuses to recognize the chauvinism in bowing down to a male father god and thus knowing that she is not the “perfect sex” in the eyes of her religion?

This realization should elicit a negative response if one is using logic and simple reason. If the negative feeling toward religion does not occur, it is apparent that one is brainwashed into thinking that submission is power in some way, or quite possibly they simply have low self-esteem as a result of their minds being preyed upon by religion while in a cognitively defenseless state.


The woman’s role as a second-class citizen according to religion is traced back to the proverbial “Garden of Eden”. It is not man who deliberately goes against “god” to eat the “apple”. It is purely the woman’s doing and persuasiveness! Thus, according to this story, “Eve” has ruined her chances with God and thus the chances of all future women to come!

Some of the alleged “punishments” handed out by God for Eve’s wickedness in the Garden of Eden are:
1) A painful childbirth (funny, I always thought it was infant skull size compared to feminine pelvic anatomy)

2) Menstrual pain (funny, there are some women that have no menstrual pain with their monthly cycle, is “god” sleeping on the job?)

3) Man shall rule over women (how convenient for us men !)
Sad to say, many women are brought up believing this nonsense as undeniable truth from a very early age, and many go on to live a life where they are:

1) Forever angry with “Eve” for what she done and forced them to now endure.. And/Or
2) Looking for a very religious “Godly” man to marry or make a life partner. (Because remember, women can not have a strong personal relationship with “god” because Eve messed it all up 8,000 some odd years ago. So now, the only way to be close to god is by “holding the hand of a man who is holding god’s “unchanging hand”.

On a side note : The act of Parthenogenesis or “virgin birth” as described in the Christian Bible occurs all the time in nature. But it must be known that when a “virgin birth” occurs, the offspring are always female! The reason for this is based on chromosomal attributes of “higher” creatures. My point is that Jesus was indeed supposed to be a living, breathing mammal, so by logic if we were are to think rationally that this virgin birth ever took place we are forced to have to believe that Jesus Christ was a girl! But then again, one is not supposed to think critically, logically and rationally when dealing with religion, how convenient.

The supposed situation of Jesus being the product of a “virgin birth” is absurd once reason and logic are applied. Anyone with a basic knowledge of history and theology will tell you why the Bible story was written so that Jesus was the product of a virgin birth. In ancient and not so ancient mythology, a virgin is considered to be the essence of purity and righteousness. In many cultures and religions, every great person or deity was thought to have been the product of a virgin birth. Long before Christianity even came into existence, Buddha and another deity named Mithra were all thought to have been the products of a virgin birth. In modern times, even Plato and Julius Caesar were also thought to have been the products of a virgin birth. The message illustrated is that Christianity is nothing but a willy-nilly “amalgam” of many previous ancient mythologies. I wish that the religionist would acknowledge this.

It is also equally as interesting to bring up the issue of homosexuality. Increasingly, the topic of homosexuality is becoming more and more unavoidable for the religionist and thus they are forced to illustrate where they stand on this topic. The entire concept of religion and belief in a god, forces one to believe that homosexuality is an unnatural act and thus “morally wrong”. There are several problems with this way of thinking and each is detrimental to our existence in so many ways.



“Homosexuality is immoral!”
Homosexuality is neither a moral act nor an immoral act! The entire concept of what we call “morality” is irrelevant to homosexuality simply because “morality” is based on how an action or thought can affect the larger group or population. Physical acts of homosexuality do not in any way affect the larger “whole” and population of fellow homo sapiens! Homosexuality does not violate anyone’s rights or compromise any outside individual’s lifestyle!



Homosexuality is wicked because it is not “natural”.
This misunderstanding is the main culprit behind the sorry state of affairs our world’s governments are in when it comes to issues regarding homosexuality. This is a classic form of the Natural Law/Nature Fallacy that is further explained in the bonus section of this book. The argument of homosexuality being unnatural and therefore “wrong” is fallacious because it conveniently assumes that humans are not apart of nature, but yet should be compared to nature! Those who are disgusted by homosexuality on the grounds of it being “unnatural” must first realize that humans were birthed out of nature and thus everything we do is automatically natural! This is a blatant double standard that is further reinforced with a healthy dose of species -ism! I have yet to see any other creature besides us that drinks milk past the years of infancy or performs an elaborate ritual for the lifelong bonding of two mating partners (marriage), thus am I to quickly conclude that an adult drinking milk and two people getting married are both “unnatural acts” and thus “immoral”?
(Wow, imagine a wedding where everyone is drinking milk! That would really be immoral!)

Of course not! It is now easily seen how the argument of nature = moral and unnatural = immoral is totally ludicrous! “Right” and “wrong” are
irrelevant when discussing whether something is natural or unnatural.

Homosexuality is completely human, thus this is proof that it is wrong!
This is a misconception that continues to be spread around the globe, but is totally false! The religionist desperately wants this misconception to be true because if so, it would somehow show how man’s homosexuality is a conscious deviation from “God’s” original intent, and thus is wicked. However, this is far from the case because homosexuality is not uniquely human! What is uniquely human however is the display of aggression and “disgust” fellow humans have for homosexual individuals! It has been well documented and known by science that the Bonobo (Pan paniscus ) which is also known as the pigmy chimpanzee, lives in very relaxed social groups with a very different sexuality (actually a more similar sexuality to us humans) compared to many other primates. The Bonobo has documented high incidences of female -to -female “coupling”, female to-female “genital rubbing”, female-to-female “oral sex” as well as male-to-male “oral sex” and male to male “genital rubbing”. This is clearly observable evidence of non-human homosexual activity! The religionist who illogically concludes that homosexuality is uniquely human quickly ignores this type of evidence! So are we supposed to conclude that the Bonobo is an “immoral and unnatural” creature created by the “devil”? Nonsense!


The bottom line is that homosexuality is neither moral nor immoral. Homosexuality is simply “Amoral” (devoid of any “moral” implication or consequence!) More importantly, it is clear that the world we live in is in dire need of a “re-education” (did we ever get a first one?) on homosexuality, but this time without the cloud of bigotry, hate and religion!
